Stormfest is basically a midnight madness basketball celebration/ scrimmage, but not at midnight, and it's going off earlier than a lot of schools' kickoff celebrations. Nice work on St. John's dunk contest, a scrimmage from the men's and women's teams, and festivites.
The event is a great excuse to bring in some top recruits.
Per Johnny Jungle, 2009 recruits including commit Omari Lawrence (no word on Malik Stith's attendance); Lance Stephenson (more on him later) and Jordan Williams will be there; 2010 recruits Devon Collier, JayVaughn Pinkston, Mike Poole (from Rosedale); and some 2011 recruits, possibly including Myck Kabongo and Sterling Gibbs will be in the house.
Here's hoping the students get the place rocking a bit.
Zagsblog reports on Lance's attendance at Stormfest as well, and adds an unrelated note that assistant coach Chris Casey was down at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia checking in on Doron Lamb (and perhaps Lamont "Momo" Jones?).
Lance Stephenson's documentary site is online, by the way - bornready.tv.
