Last year, Paris Horne was good in a limited amount of time; he was a defensive player who somehow put up efficient numbers. But could he do it for 30 minutes a game? Especially since he spent the early part of his freshman year missing some shots well wide of the basket? There was no clear answer; players tend to lose some efficiency when they play more minutes. But the potential proved true, and Horne apparently had not hit his efficiency peak.

Paris Horne is, most likely, the best player on the team. He is credited with good defense, doesn't turn the ball over unlike his teammates, and is using his speed, jump shot, defense, and slashing ability to find scoring chances; he has become St. John's relative go-to guy. Scoring 16 points per game in the Big East is no easy feat.

His free throw rate could stand to be better. He passes the ball, but could improve on his playmaking as well. His rebounding has disappeared. A player with his athletic abilities can probably do better, but he stays away from the glass to guard the back line of the defense. Overall, he's been the breakout player of the year for the Johnnies.
