Pressed into duty - and heavy minutes - at the start of conference season, Quincy Roberts struggled manning the point. He turned the ball over, didn't log many assists, and the team as a whole suffered without reliable ball handling. But as a freshman "combo-guard," he may have shown some flashes of what he can be. Consider that though he didn't hit a lot of shots, he did squeeze off 19 shots in a game.

Irresponsible? Perhaps. But he had some looks in that matchup against Providence, and a number of those shots came when the game was out of reach. Combined with his solid free-throw percentage (77%), good lift and consistent form on his shot and with his sneaky-quick ability to drive to the hoop, Roberts might have a bit of scoring ability.

He has gone from a miscast point back into a bit player in the offense. That is okay; his turnover percentage does not adequately describe how he struggled handling the ball against Big East foes. His assist rate is low, but not bad for an off-guard. He can pick up a rebound or two, as well.
