Two days after being picked to win the Big East's Red Division, the St. John's men's soccer team went out to give fans a preview of what to expect this upcoming season.

The Red Storm faced off with Stony Brook in their first of three preseason games, winning 2-1 with a late goal by senior, Andres Vargas.

Red-shirted junior Nick Matthews opened up the scoring in the first half, scoring off a Stony Brook turnover. Stony Brook would counter in the second half with a goal of their own but Vargas would head in the game winner off a pass from Preseason All-Big East selection, Tim Parker.

Parker was named the game MVP which is chosen by both teams head coaches.

Red Storm will face Virginia and Boston College before starting the regular season against Boston University on August 24th.
