The View From Section 110 vs. Rutgers

Ugly. Sad. Disappointing. This is a game the Johnnies gave away. It was not a fun game to watch as it was a total grind, which is not a game in which our athletic Johnnies look particularly comfortable in. Two seasons ago, Lavin described his offensive plan as trying to get a shot off in the first six seconds of the possesion and then if not running the clock down to get a good look if they can't get anything in that first six. These Johnnies were not executing in that way if that is still the game plan. They were tenative offensively. Their defense was not particularly bad, but they were unable to finish on turnovers, or would wind up giving the ball back. I have watched Branch now in the three games he has played and I am not particularly impressed. He has some nice moves but seems reckless. Dumb turnovers at bad times. Maybe its because he has only played three games, but Garrett should absolutely play over Branch. And I just can't talk about free throws...it hurts too much. We get a Georgetown team that is struggling Saturday morning. Lets hope they don't decide to score more than 50 points.
