The View From Section 110 vs. Seton Hall

It looked like a decent crowd for a Sunday noon tip - seemed like more than the 7,000+ listed in the box score. The beginning was just a shot fest. Both sides just running their offenses and getting to the basket. I liked how the Johnnies came back at the end of the first to take the lead and then extend it into the second half. The problem is they get very sloppy for stretches of time when they have a lead. They rush the ball, poor shot selection, etc. I am sure it is youth, but they have to learn how to control both the tempo and the game when then have a sizable lead. I think it was key that they never gave up the lead - even when it shrank to 1. We were helped greatly by the fact that the Pirates' shots stopped falling in the last ten minutes. They were getting stops on defense but not converting. Sampson quieted down a bit in the second, but when D'Angello is on - he is really on. He had the look early on that he was feeling good and was consistented pretty much through the game. The refs were absolutely horrendous. But a win is a win. We need to take the next one because we have a tough four game stretch after that.
