St. John's 82 Georgetown 60: The efficiency grades are in

NEW YORK CITY – From the first few Rysheed Jordan ‘bombs’ that saw nothing but net you had the feeling it might be a special night for St. John’s. And, their fans, of course. The Red Storm put together a dominant performance avenging an earlier loss by defeating Georgetown 82-60 at Madison Square Garden. Now, before Butler invades MSG, we will look at the red Storm efficiency numbers from Sunday. Those logging 10 minutes or more are included.

Jordan’s efficiency was fueled by 8 of 11 shooting. The Red Storm as a team committed 8 turnovers (an outstanding 13% TO Rate) so that area did not greatly affect the individual efficiencies. Chris Pbekpa had a nice line including 4 boards, 4 assists, 3 blocks and zero turnovers. Orlando Sanchez, 9 points and rebounds offset by just one TO had a strong efficiency as well. Finally, D’Angelo Harrison hit the big three that quieted a mid second half Hoya run. Harrison had a solid efficiency but 7 of 15 shooting, zero assists and two turnovers was the difference between him and leader Jordan.
