First Obekpa, now Sanchez out for Nova game.

Just looking over any National stories pertaining to today's matchup only to find St. John's will be without the services of Orlando Sanchez against the Cats'.

The good news is Orlando is now the proud father of a 7lb 6oz baby girl, the bad news is he will miss today's game. Congratulations to Orlando and Flo on there new arrival. Now how will this affect our gameplan?

Well we were all clamoring at the amount of players in the rotation earlier in the season. Lav has since trimmed it down but maybe he is not as crazy as we all think. Crazy like a fox maybe? He is going to need to go to his 8th, 9th, maybe 10th man today with no Obekpa or Sanchez. Maybe now is where the high number of players in the rotation earlier in the year pays dividends. Something tells me Lav saw this coming and prepared for it.

While the folks over at VU hoops blog are ecstatic about this latest complication, I think we all know better. This team is deep, it has been our biggest strength all year. This team is so deep our head coach didn't really have his rotation set until February. It is my opinion that with a rotation of our top 7/8 players SJU is good enough to beat anyone in the country on any day. Lav has come to the same conclusion, trimmed down the rotation and Wa La, the team is playing it's best ball of the season.

This is going to be an up tempo game and even without our big men we are plenty capable of getting this win. Felix, Max, Christian and Jamal will have to step up and I think they will. Any chance Obekpa surprises us and plays? Maybe second half?, would be a nice surprise. The X factor today will be our uber talented freshman Rysheed Jordan. He goes home to Philly today and you know he wants to put on a show. If he plays as well as he is capable and doesn't let the emotion overcome him, he may put on a show indeed. Johnnies 74, Nova 65
