Lots of talk about the air conditioning and Lebron's cramping and all the media outlets and sports writers are running with it. If you take a closer look at the box score it tells a different story.
The Heat are similar to the Johnnies in that they have talent all over the floor but lack leadership at the point. This series will come down to Mario Chalmers. Chalmers is the starting pg and he played 17 minutes. He wasn't looking for his shot and only managed to go 1-3 from the floor with an assist and a rebound. He managed three steals and hit a three pointer, but also had five turnovers and five fouls.
The Spurs are a team of quality basketball players who play together and share the ball. Tony Parker had eight assists, Manu Ginobli had a whopping eleven and glue guy Boris Diaw had six with ten boards. Patty Mills out of St. Mary's in Moraga, California spent four years under Randy Bennett and has developed into a fine NBA point guard. He shot 3-5 in 12 minutes, hit a three, had a steal, and didn't turn the ball over.
Thirty assists for the Spurs and sixteen for the Heat tells the whole story. If the Heat are gonna win this series Mario Chalmers is going to have play better. He doesn't have to score twenty but he can't get outplayed by Patty Mills. Chalmers needs to take a Q from Lebron and play so hard that his body fails him. Lebron is a Warrior but he can't do it alone, not against this team.
