St. John's basketball recruiting: More on Kilpatrick

Earlier post on Sean Kilpatrick

Update on Sean Kilpatrick from Adam Zagoria:

Sean Kilpatrick, the 6-5 senior small forward from White Plains, will visit Seton Hall Thursday and then take in the South Florida game at The Rock. He is averaging 27 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists, and recently gave 33 in a loss to Mount Vernon and West Virginia-bound F Kevin Jones. Kilpatrick visited St. John's on Saturday and liked it.

"I think they (St. John's) fit my style of play and I think it would be a good choice," Kilpatrick said.

As for making a decision, he added: "I'm going to take my time in making my decision. Depending on if I do well in school the rest of the year, I would come in to college for 2008. If I don't then I will likely go to prep school and come in for 2009."

Kilpatrick holds offers from St. John's, Kansas State and UMass, and he is receiving strong interest from Seton Hall, UConn, Maryland, Manhattan, DePaul, George Washington, Virginia and N.C. State.

I watched part of the White Plains vs. Mount Vernon game on MSG. The handle looks solid, and his shot release looks quick. St. John’s could use his offense; and for anyone who says there is a glut at the guard position, well, 11 guys get playing time each night and 3-4 of them can score. The Red Storm can fit another scorer on the court at the 2 or 3 positions. And if Kilpatrick can rebound and/ or defend on the Big East level, he’ll be an excellent piece to a tough team.
