Walker was one of the most highly recruited players in city. He whittled his choices down to Cincinnati, St. John's and Connecticut, but quietly was waiting for the Huskies to offer him a scholarship.

"I definitely would have considered St. John's more strongly if they were as good as they were back in the day," Walker said. "But they're not right now and Connecticut is. That's just the way it is."
