St. John's season is (surprisingly?) extended with a berth to the NIT. The Storm lost to Marquette in the Big East Tournament, and many wrote about the end of Norm Roberts' tenure as head coach of the Johnnies. It turns out that Coach Roberts gets one more game to convince the powers that be that he deserves to coach his seniors.
How far does Norm have to get in the NIT to save his job? One win? All the way to the semifinals in Madison Square Garden?
The Red Storm will play the Memphis Tigers in Memphis' Fed Ex Forum at 9 pm Eastern time on Wednesday, March 17th. The game will be televised on ESPN2. St. John's is slotted as a 6 seed.
