It's time to don the sweaters, it's time to light the lights! It's time to get things started on the Red Storm show tonight!
St. John's takes on the Texas-Pan American Broncs at 7 pm on the new red Storm tradition of ugly sweater night. It's a nod to Lou Carnesecca's traditional sweater, and to the ridiculous holiday/ Christmas-themed sweaters people are compelled to wear around this time of year.
Unfortunately, I deleted all of mine from the collection over the years. They were awesome, heinous, reminiscent of snowflakes and nostalgia and of "my momma bought this." Do you have a good ugly sweater to wear? (If you have a photo, feel free to leave it in the comments section.)
Meanwhile, there is a game to play against the Broncs, coached by Ryan Marks. By Ken Pomeroy's rankings, they are one of the worst teams in Division I; they have 4 wins, and three of those wins are against non-Division I opponents. But they can shoot a little bit from the outside. For more detail, read the St. John's/ UTPA game preview.

And the other good news: Amir Garrett is eligible to play for St. John's.
Amir Garrett will be on the bench.
Rejoice! Hosannas! Seven scholarship players!
Here's hoping...
- the Broncs catch a sound beating and the walk-ons - especially Sam Sealy - get some run before Big East play starts.
- we see a little more offensive flow and creativity from Phil Greene and the crew.
- we see some sharper shooting from D`Angelo Harrison.
- we see how this team is going to play hard and hustle with only seven ballers.
