This is the quiet waiting period for St. John's. No games. No news. Just hype and the wait for Kyle Anderson's college decision, as fans hit "refresh" on the message boards and blogs to see where the top target for four schools will go.
Anderson has his in-home visit with Georgetown today, per Casual Hoya. Kyle dropped a cool 61 points on Saturday (and Johnny Jungle was there to chat with him), and followed that up with 31 and 30 points ($ req'd) in two games on Sunday.
Yesterday, he welcomed Florida to his house, and will visit Gainesville over this weekend...
Kyle's father reported on the visit to Zagsblog:
"He showed video of similar players to Lil Kyle’s skill set — Chandler Parsons, Mike Miller and Nick Calathes — and how he allowed them freedom to make plays.
"It’s one thing to tell me that you know how to maximize Lil Kyle’s versatility — it’s another thing to show me you have experience doing it."
His dad calls him L'il Kyle. No comment.
Yes, the cat and mouse information game continues. Where is Kyle leaning? What "percentage" likelihood is Kyle to go to any of the schools?
Personally, I don't know, and we should all stress a little bit less about a kid's decision.
The staffs are doing their best recruiting jobs; St. John's has taken to letting us all know the impressive list of NBA players who have come to campus recently (including Baron Davis, Earl Watson, Al Harrington, and Matt Barnes - mostly Lavin's old UCLA players). Florida lets Kyle know they've managed tall guards before. Seton Hall shows love at many of Kyle's Fall League games in New Jersey.
All great efforts. But someone's efforts are going to go for naught.
