Women's Soccer drops a pair against Marquette, Butler

The Red Storm took to the road but couldn't come away with a win in either of their games against Marquette and Butler.

Marquette 3, St. John's 1

The No. 21 Golden Eagles were too much for the Red Storm to handle as Marquette handed St. John's a 3-1 loss last Thursday. For the Red Storm, Rachel Daly provided the only offense, scoring her team-leading 14th goal of the year.

Dian Poulin made seven saves in net, but it wasn't enough to earn the win in Milwaukee.

Butler 2, St. John's 1 (OT)

The Red Storm battled the Bulldogs to a 0-0 tie in the first half, but things changed quickly in the second half. St. John's was issued a red card in the 46th minute, forcing them to play a woman down for the rest of the match.

Trailing 1-0 as time was winding down in the contest, Amy Moran scored with just 3:05 left in regulation.

Butler outshot the Red Storm 11-5 on the day. The Bulldogs scored just 1:46 into the overtime period, handing the Red Storm their second straight conference loss on the road.
