Steve Lavin's return for the South Florida game coincided with a win... but over the team at the bottom of the standings (and the bottom of the league efficiency margins).

This afternoon's task agains the Pitt Panthers is far tougher. The big game atmosphere the Johnnies craved when they were being recruited to join the Red Storm is here. The team has two hours to win a significant game with NCAA Tournament implications, to get over a hump in the league, and to stamp themselves as a serious contender - all on the Madison Square Garden floor on a February Sunday.
