The baseball team is still alive for the Big East baseball tournament despite a tough year; the top eight teams make the Big East Tournament.
The Johnnies are in eighth place with a 7-11 conference record (20-30 overall) with six games left against Notre Dame (8-10 in the Big East) and Seton Hall (13-5 in the Big East).
Those are a pair of tough series for the Red Storm to take; the Johnnies lost a three-game set at Miami last weekend.
All of the St. John's/ Notre Dame games will be available on ESPN 3. So if you're done with finals or otherwise just relaxing, enjoy some college baseball at 12:00 PM on Saturday or the second game of the doubleheader at 3:00 PM on Saturday - or at 1:00 PM on Sunday.
Women's coach Joe Tartamella, fresh off of an NCAA berth and having two of his players drafted, will be a panelist at the prestigious Villa 7 Consortium on May 10-11. The program is self-described as a program to put athletic directors and top assistant coaches together to prepare the next generation of leaders.
Or, from the press release: "In 2012, 14 assistant coaches who have been a part of the Villa 7 Consortium were hired as head coaches. Tartamella was one of those 14." Obviously, Tartamella has benefited, and will pass on what he learned to another group of assistant coaches.
