In order to win, you need solid defense. After consecutive 1-0 wins over South Carolina and West Virginia, the Red Storm have won four straight, largely due to the play of Rafael Diaz in net. For the second straight week, Diaz has been named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week.
For his two game-winning goals, Sean Sepe has also been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

Sepe entered the game in the second half and made his presence felt less than five minutes into action. He delivered his first career game-winning goal against visiting South Carolina in front of over 1,000 crazed Red Storm soccer fans at Belson Stadium.
The Johnnies are off to an impressive start as they notched their third-straight win and second-straight 1-0 win. Diaz was able to keep a clean sheet while making a season-high six saves for the red and white.
Opportunities arose early for the Red Storm but they weren't able to capitalize until the 60th minute when Sepe collected a header by Jamie Thomas that went across the front of the goal. Sepe was able to tap in the easy goal to give the Red Storm their 1-0 lead.

What do you do after scoring your first career game-winning goal? Why, you score your second career game-winning goal the very next game!
Sepe played the role of hero again for the Red Storm as he showed some finesse by beating two defenders before burying a shot just inside the left post in the 24th minute of play.
Diaz once again kept a clean sheet for his fourth-straight win and third-straight shutout as the Red Storm improved to 5-1-0 on the season.
