I wish they had gone 4 and 20 instead of 9 and 20, because, you know, that would be funnier.
Jack Perri's injury-riddled squad played a fast pace, but saw injuries to many of their main players. They were very good at fouling no one. But that also meant that they stopped no one, allowing opponents to shoot 39% from outside the arc. They say that three-point shooting is partly luck... but that's a LOT of luck.
Perri expects to be sorting out roles and is bracing for a rocky non-conference season. Both Martin and Atterberry were sidelined with heart ailments but return.
Jason Brickman was one of the nation's best point guards and was a thrill to watch, but now that he's gone, Perri will search for a solution, possibly in a Norweigan freshman point guard Elvar Fridriksson.
E.J. Reed transferred to Division II Tarleton State. His rebounding duties will hopefully be taken by Nura Zanna - who hurt his wrist and redshirted last year - and 6'8" Glenn Feidanga.
