Big East Tournament Pick-Em recap

Jim McIsaac

Results of the Rumble Pick "em Challenge were unsurprising... unsurprisingly inaccurate, given how unpredictable the actual Big East Tournament really was.

The Big East Pick 'Em asked readers to pick which teams would:

- go to Round 2/ Quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament,

- which teams would move on to Round 3/ Semifinals, and

- which team would win (avoiding the question of who the losing Big East team in the Tournament Finals would be).

Congratulations to Michael Crimmins, who correctly guessed four of the winners in our Big East Pick'Em... out of a possible seven.Michael's adherence to the idea that Seton Hall would win the Big East Tournament held him in good stead when the VIllanova Wildcats fell to the Hall, continuing a week of parity-laden upsets that drew attention to the Big East Tournament in its first year without longtime members Syracuse and Connecticut.

And being a St. John's blog, the predictions here in Rumble land skewed wildly towards the St. John's side, with winners in bold; names are sorted left to right based on popularity of the pick:

Which is to say, the favorites here got dusted early (except for Creighton), and no one would have guessed Seton Hall's or Providence's run.
