Yesterday was ugly - a 92-55 pounding by the Vanderbilt Commodores, but today is a new day... against another difficult squad.
St. John's gets to face another ranked opponent - this time, the Indiana Hoosiers, a surprise loser to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons yesterday afternoon. The Hoosiers are deep, can push the pace and get shots inside; and they are balanced by three-point shooting from James Blackmon and Robert johnson, who did not make a deal with a devil, I am told. (It's a blues reference.)
Blackmon struggled against the Demon Deacons, a big part of the surprise loss. And Wake Forest had the size to deal inside with the Hoosiers' height.
St. John's was burnt by height early and often, as the Commodores held St. John's to five points in the first ten minutes. Can Yankuba Sima and Christian Jones bring a better performance?
