NCAA Profile: Duke Blue Devils

The defending champs will look to repeat after an up and down season in Durham.

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Team: Duke Blue Devis

Conference: ACC

Coach: Mike Krzyzewski

Record: 23-10 (11-7 conference)

KenPom Rank: 22

Good Wins: Indiana, Louisville, Virginia and at North Carolina.

Impact Players: Grayson Allen, the talk of college basketball this season for reasons good and bad, leads the team with just under 22 points per game. Brandon Ingram, a surefire lottery pick in this year's NBA Draft, averaged just under 17 points and seven rebounds in a strong freshman campaign. Marshall Plumlee, Luke Kennard, Matt Jones and Derryck Thornton all see big minutes as well.

How did they get in?: Despite falling unranked for the first time in nine years at one point this season, the Blue Devils had more than enough quality wins in a quality conference to easily secure a bid. Despite an early exit from the ACC Tournament, Duke had no reason to worry about their bubble hopes.

How far can this team go in the NCAA Tournament?: Common sense would say they are probably a Sweet 16 team at this point, but would it be shocking to see this team make a second straight Final Four run? Depth will be an issue, and although it's not likely, in this year's wide open field you really never know.

Last time in the NCAA Tournament: 2015. They won the championship with a 68-63 win over Wisconsin on April 6.
