NCAA Profile: Texas A&M Aggies

Jalen Jones is the real deal along with Danuel House.

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Team: Texas A&M Aggies

Conference: Southeastern Conference

Coach: Billy Kennedy

Record: 26-8, 13-5

KenPom Ranking: 17

Good wins: Texas, Gonzaga, Baylor, Iowa State, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Florida (twice)

Impact Players: Jalen Jones (15.5 ppg, 7.2 rpg), Danuel House (15.5 ppg), Tyler Davis (11.1 ppg, 6.1 rpg), Alex Caruso (7.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 5.1 apg)

How did they get in?: The Aggies won a share of the SEC regular season title and lost to Kentucky in a thrilling overtime battle in the SEC Conference Tournament final. They are 14-7 versus the RPI top 100 and 3-1 versus the RPI top 25 while playing the 63rd toughest schedule in the country.

How far can this team go in the NCAA Tournament?: The Aggies are in the West Region (the weakest of the four) so they have the potential to make major noise and possibly even advance to Houston if the ball bounces the right way. Kennedy's unit has experience, chemistry, excellent toughness, but the one area that may hold them back is the lack of a player who can take over a game.

Last time in the NCAA Tournament: 2011 when they lost in the Round of 64 to Florida State.
