NCAA Profile: Fairleigh Dickinson Knights

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

Team: Fairleigh Dickinson Knights

Conference: Northeast Conference

Coach: Greg Herenda

Record: 18-14, 11-7 in conference

KenPom Rank: 263

Good wins: Over Wagner in the NEC final.

Impact Players: With a collection of short sophomores - the only player over 6'6" who gets more than 25% of the team's minutes is freshman Malik Miller - Greg Herenda found a formula that worked late in the season. The Knights have won five straight to get to the NCAA Tournament. Guard Darian Anderson leads the way - he's sharp at the line - and 6'6" sophomore Earl Potts scores efficiently inside the arc (60%) and outside (40%).

How did they get in?: The Knights were excellent at scoring - tops in 2-point percentage, 3-point percentage, and free throw percentage in Northeast Conference play. They outscored opponents on their way to the title.

How far can this team go in the NCAA Tournament?: The Knights can force steals but otherwise can struggle defensively. They're in the first four for a reason, and stand a chance of never having the opportunity to get blown out by UNC, First-round knockout.

Last time in the NCAA Tournament: 2005.
