NCAA Profile: Yale Bulldogs

Yale will head to Providence to battle Baylor.

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Team: Yale Bulldogs

Conference: Ivy League

Coach: James Jones

Record: 22-6, 13-1

KenPom Ranking: 38

Good wins: Princeton, at Columbia

Impact players: Justin Sears (15.8 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 1.8 bpg), Makai Mason (15.8 ppg, 3.7 apg), Brandon Sherrod (12.5 ppg, 7.1 rpg)

How did they get in?: The Bulldogs won the Ivy League regular season title (the league doesn't currently have a conference tournament) by beating Columbia on their home court. Their only loss in conference play was against Princeton and that game was on the road. Jones' team has won five straight heading into this week's Big Dance.

How far can this team go in the NCAA Tournament?: Yale is one of the better rebounding teams in the country, but they haven't seen a rebounding team like Baylor yet. The Bears have physically opposing big men and that likely won't work in the favor of the Bulldogs. One thing that will help, Yale is playing in Providence so they should have strong support from the crowd.
