NCAA Profile: Stony Brook

They finally made it to the NCAA Tournament.

Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports

Team: Stony Brook Seawolves

Conference: America East Conference

Coach: Steve Pikiell

Record: 26-6 overall, 14-2 in conference

KenPom Rank: 91

Good wins: over Princeton.

Impact Players: Stony Brook's Jameel Warney averages a double double in points and rebounds; teams double him because he can make such a forceful impact in the paint. Carson Puriefoy is the player who needs to have a steady game for the Seawolves to have a strong chance, however; he's had poor/ inefficient game sin most of Stony Brook's losses.

How did they get in?: FINALLY, Stony Brook reaches the NCAA Tournament for the first time, defeating Vermont in the America East final after Warney scored 43 - his career high. The Seawolves fell the last three years despite bring the top seed in two of those years.

How far can this team go in the NCAA Tournament?: Round of 32. Jameel Warney is a tough player, but if a team is willing to double team him - or otherwise cut down his production - the Seawolves don't consistently deliver enough to pull off wins.

Last time in the NCAA Tournament: never
