NCAA Profile: Indiana Hoosiers

Indiana will face Chattanooga in the first round of the Big Dance.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Team: Indiana Hoosiers

Conference: Big Ten

Coach: Tom Crean

Record: 25-7, 15-3

KenPom Ranking: 14

Good wins: Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Ohio State, @ Michigan, Iowa, Purdue, @ Iowa, Maryland

Impact Players: Yogi Ferrell (17.0 ppg, 5.5 apg), Troy Williams (13.1 ppg, 5.9 rpg), Thomas Bryant (11.6 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 52% shooting)

How did they get in?: The Hoosiers won the Big Ten Conference outright and were almost impossible to beat at Assembly Hall. Indiana won 16 of 19 games down the stretch. their offense scores points consistently; the defense can be a touch suspect, but has come together during this calendar year.

How far can this team go in the NCAA Tournament?: The Hoosiers have greatly improved on the defensive side of the ball after losing James Blackmon Jr., their second leading scorer, for the season, but they still are one of the more potent offensive clubs in the country. Unfortunately for Crean and company, they will have a very tough opening game against Chattanooga and if they do win, they get rewarded with Kentucky.

Last time in the NCAA Tournament: 2015 when they lost to Wichita State in the opening round.
