St. John's came out with no energy versus the Georgetown Hoyas at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday and were dominated from start to finish, 93-73. The Johnnies will need to get out to a quick start in Indiana on Saturday afternoon or things could get out of control quickly, stopping themselves from ending their eight game losing streak.
In order to record their first Big East Conference victory, the Johnnies must have balance, make baskets from the perimeter and attempt to contain Roosevelt Jones, who can do pretty much everything on the court. Chris Mullin's squad also must bring the same passion and aggressiveness that they showed in games at Marquette, home against Xavier and on the road at Providence.
Meanwhile, the Butler Bulldogs are one of the most potent offensive groups in the country as they average 84.6 points per game (good for 14th in the nation). Chris Holtmann's unit is unselfish, relentless in transition and have received strong production from Jones, Kelan Martin and sharp shooter Kellen Dunham. Dunham averages 15.3 points an outing and has played better as of late after going through a shooting slump.
Butler lacks size so can Kassoum Yakwe have another big outing?
Will Ron Mvouika find his groove early after not taking a single shot in the first half against Georgetown?
And the biggest question...Can the Johnnies make shots consistently as a unit?
