2016 NCAA Tournament Selection Show expands

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Starting this year, the NCAA Selection Show will expand to an extra hour, spanning from 5:30-7:30 Eastern Time on March 13 on CBS.

Sure, this is News We Can't Use here for following St. John's, but as basketball fans, this is of interest.

Traditionally from 6-7 pm Eastern time, the selection show featured look ins on teams on the bubble and teams near the top of the bracket, and some conversation from the in-studio staff. Meanwhile ESPN and others would have more in-depth interviews with coaches and players about their matchups and seed.

This year, the show will be expanded (does that mean the reveal of all four regions will be slower?) as the NCAA promises "more" - more interviews, more discussion and more reactions from teams.

The cast in studio will include Ernie Johnson and Greg Gumbel as hosts with Clark Kellogg, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Seth Davis and Doug Gottlieb providing analysis.
