Well, here we are, at the end of the regular season and St. John's...it's been a long year. The Friars are hanging on the NCAA dreams for dear life despite their hot start and top-5 NBA pick Kris Dunn, so expect to see strong effort from them.
The Red Storm hope for a better overall effort after a week off. We don't need to mention that the team's showing in the past two games was lackluster. But head coach Chris Mullin appreciates that the players "fought for each other and gave an honest effort each and every day. They haven't given in to adversity and I think ultimately, we'll see residual effects of it in the future."
As far as those last few games, by the way? "Defensively, against DePaul our close outs were horrible," Mullin said. "Against Creighton, it was a combination of them shooting the ball really well and us not getting out [to defend the three-ball]. We've had really good games where we've done both well. We have to get back to the effort we put forth against Seton Hall."
And, let's be positive.
The Johnnies will have a number of high-level recruits in the next three classes visiting tomorrow.
There's a chance that the Johnnies could get to ten wins! Heck, there's still a wild outside chance that the Red Storm could become the first team to win the National Championship with a losing record!
Ok, I'll stop. Let's get to commenting!
