FIBA U20 European Championship: streaming quarterfinal games

Mussini and Sima are back in action for two more games today.

Yankuba Sima
St. John's freshman center Yankuba Sima steps up to the free throw line in an exhibition game versus St. Thomas Aquinas.

The FIBA Under-20 Tournament continues for three more days, ending on Sunday with the Finals, 3rd place game, and games to determine slots 5-12 in the tournament. We have the streaming video down below for your enjoyment.

Both Yankuba Sima’s Spain team and Federico Mussini’s Italy squad are on the winner’s side of the Tournament, with a chance to lay claim as the champions of FIBA’s 2016 U20 Tournament.

Spain thrashed Hungary on their way to the top eight of the Tournament. And for St. John’s interests, Yankuba Sima only needed 20 minutes of game time, where he showed his skill in running the floor with agility and quickness to get buckets. Sima is averaging 10 points and six rebounds with 1.5 blocked shots per game.

Italy needed a hot fourth quarter from Federico Mussini and his backcourt mate Diego Flaccadori to top defending champion Serbia. The St. John’s point guard Mussini is second on Italy at 14.2 points per game, playing under 26 minutes per contest. He’s shooting 50% inside the arc and 38% from beyond the three-point line, perfect on his free throws, and is averaging 1.8 assists and 1.8 turnovers per game.
