Every year, we have fun looking at the odds that the Las Vegas betting houses lay down for Big East teams to win the NCAA Basketball Championship (and we are sure, some people love to lay down bets too. We don’t judge what you do with your money!)...
But this year, we see something interesting: Las vegas doesn’t know St. John’s picked to finish in the lower-middle of the conference, is there.
Indeed, on Bovada.lv, you can’t lay a bet on St. John's winning the NCAA Championship!
Travesty!
Especially since you can put money on Georgetown, Northern Iowa and Pittsburgh. (Not shown, because it is terribly long.)
But also of interest is how perceptions of other Big East teams have changed in the offseason, since the first betting lines came out in April.
Villanova’s odds have gotten twice as long, from 14 to 1 to 28 to 1. In fact, every Big East team’s odds have gone down, as Duke and Missouri landed one-and-done talents...
Every team except Georgetown.
We actually are assuming this is some kind of typo. A cruel, sad, divorced-from-reality typo.
