St. John’s has been after a few players for, it seems, the entirety of Chris Mullin’s tenure at St. John’s.
One of them is Aidan Igiehon, the Irish big man who plays at Lawrence Woodmere Academy. Igiehon will swing by campus for an unofficial visit, which seems like a good sign, given his high-end interest of late.

The 6’10” forward has blossomed into a likely top-50 player, has visited Midnight Madness at Georgetown and Villanova this season, and holds offers from Virginia and interest from Louisville and Syracuse.
Tough company.
After seeing the program on Saturday, Igiehon will play in the Sharette Dixon Classic on Sunday per Zagsblog, honoring Kimani Young’s wife who died tragically in 2009.
The Classic brings together the best upper class and young talent from New York City and the surrounding New Jersey cities, and promotes academic excellence as well. Moses Brown, Jalen Gaffney, Jahvon Quinerly, Luther Muhammad, Posh Alexander and others will be playing.
(Young, who had been on the St. John’s staff the year before, is currently an assistant coach at Minnesota.)
