Good afternoon, everybody! It’s time for an actual, honest-to-glory basketball game between St. John’s and another team that is open to the public!
It’s an exhibition, so you should expect to be impressed and you should expect dunks. But remember that Providence, who beat on UConn in an exhibition last week, also lost to Canadian Carleton College.
To be fair: Carleton College also beat Alabama and Vanderbilt. American International is a Division II team coming off of an 11-win season that loses four starters.
But still. Complacency is the enemy of progress.
Game Details
Who: St. John’s Red Storm vs. American International Yellowjackets
Where: Carnesecca Arena
When: 7:00 PM
TV: ESPN3
Last Meeting: First-ever meeting
Let’s start talking about the game in the comments section below; the Rumble staff will be in and out of this one on occasion, so feel free to converse among yourselves and point out what looks to be working for the Johnnies, who welcome two exciting transfers and a freshman. Will that be enough, along with Shamorie Ponds and Marcus LoVett, to elevate Chris Mullin’s team?
