St. John’s has three games in four days in Orlando, as Chris Mullin and his squad face up to three high-major teams in the Advocare Invitational Tournament over Thanksgiving.
The Red Storm take on the Oregon State Beavers, first, and then will face the winner of Missouri vs. Long Beach State on Friday at either 2:00 PM or 11:00 AM. The final round is on Sunday at 9:30 PM.
St. John’s hopes the dynamic duo of Shamorie Ponds and Marcus Lovett can pour in the points. But the key for the Johnnies will be the play of the dynamic Justin Simon, who has been a game-breaking point guard who rebounds.
Also key will be how well Tariq Owens can play off the bench, Bashir Ahmed’s defensive contributions, Marvin Clark II avoiding foul trouble, and how well the bench adds to the attack.
Will the Red Storm leave Orlando 7-0? It will be a tough task, with a number of tough teams to face.
