So, sure, St. John's is 12-14 on the season and 6-7 in the Big East and the record isn't pretty BUT...
There is still a chance for something significant, especially thinking of the Johnnies' standing in the middle of the pack in the league. There are chances for this team to, perhaps, finish the season at .500 and entertain outlandish hopes for a postseason bid.
That's not REALISTIC hope, mind you. It's the dissonance of having a team under .500 but with a league record that would normally shout NIT.
Will this last? Can this team go 4-1 over their last five league games against the middle of the conference?
That will tell some tales, but in some ways, this season is already an improvement.
Can the Johnnies deflect and disrupt enough on defense tonight? Can they hit some transition shots, perhaps a few three-pointers?
St. John's is on FS1 at 8:30 pm (yaawwwn, so late).
Our coverage may be a bit quiet tonight due to circumstances out of our control, but we will try to get a recap up as quickly as we can.
