Two more Red Storm players were drafted to MLB teams on Wednesday, joining 10th round pick Jesse Berardi.

The Seattle Mariners picked up catcher Troy Dixon in the 20th round (pick #603) and the Miami Marlins snagged Michael Donadio 10 rounds later (30th round, pick #899).

Updates in recruiting

Per NCAA rules, coaches can reach out to players in the class of 2019 now, and St. John’s was active. The Johnnies reached out to Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine among others.

Scottie Lewis told Elevate Hoops that

The first to contact me was St. John’s... They texted me,” said Lewis. “They said they can put me in position for me to make it to the next level and basically bring back what St. John’s use to be.”

Speaking of which, Bryan Antoine and Scottie Lewis will unofficially visit next Wednesday.

Along with a number of friends?

As for 2018...

Meanwhile, Luther Muhammad is a high-level target for the Johnnies. But now Ohio State is also in the hunt- mostly because Chris Holtmann loved his combination of shot-making and defensive toughness.

Another alum playing in TBT

D’Angelo Harrison will play in the $2M dollar prize The Basketball Tournament, with a team of former Iona players.

Former Johnnies Paris Horne and D.J. Kennedy will defend their title in TBT as well.
