This week in recruiting, #LutherWatch (not a real hashtag that we have used) continues, with Luther Muhammad packing another weekend with a visit to a high-end basketball program that loves to play defense - this weekend, it’s West Virginia.
But in the meantime, 247Sports adds a “Crystal Ball” prediction for Ohio State, now the leader for the 2018 New Jersey guard. Those predictions mean little, but it does give a sense of where the hoops recruiting pundits think a player will go.
That said, Muhammad has been tight-lipped about his plans recently.
(Also, Notre Dame, which received commitments from three four-star guards and are not on Muhammad’s five-team visit list, are also tied with Ohio State for the prediction. So, take the predictions with a grain of salt.)
The waiting is the hardest part...
In the meantime, St. John’s is keeping tabs on 2019 F Precious Achiuwa, who continues to garner high-level attention from major teams.

Recruiting visits around the Big East
Two teams are vying for top-50 guards.
Villanova is hoping to win the services of 2018 point guard David Duke (the player you probably want to web search with the word “basketball” attached) with the last visit. Duke will see Florida and Virginia Tech before coming to the Philadelphia area to visit the Wildcats. Providence is also a major contender, and Duke is from Providence.
Meanwhile, Marquette is hoping for the biggest splash, earning a visit from top-25 point guard Quentin Grimes. Grimes will see Marquette after Texas (this weekend), Kentucky, Kansas and then the Golden Eagles.
