Game thread: St. John’s vs Xavier

Maybe this is streak-breaking weather.

NCAA Basketball: DePaul at St. John Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

Come in, come in! It is our time for the twice-a-week airing of grievances and fantasies while we watch St. John’s try to win their first Big East conference game. Tonight, the venue is Carnesecca Arena, the opponent is Xavier and the hope is still alive.

And if the game goes sideways early, we can share our best “get the dance floor moving” songs.

Here’s what we are hoping — for better ball movement and effort than Saturday’s game.

In the last two games, Shamorie Ponds has scored a combined nine points (7 vs Creighton and 2 vs Butler); Marvin Clark II had 12 combined points in those two games as well.
