St. John’s, 7-0 after a comeback win against Georgia Tech, remains unranked in the AP Poll, but Shamorie Ponds has won another weekly Big East honor.
After pulling St. John’s up in the neutral site game in Miami against Georgia Tech for a 76-73 win, Ponds gets a Big East Honor Roll spot. Ponds, who had scored 4 points last Tuesday against Maryland Eastern Shore, was on fire in Miami, scoring 37 points. It’s the second time in his career that he has scored 37 points, and seven points short of his career-high 44 against Marquette last season.
But speaking of Marquette...
Markus Howard scored 45 points to help defeat #12 Kansas State, 83-71.
