Remember last year, when a gritty St. John’s team squeaked out a win against a flailing Georgetown Hoyas squad for a Big East Tournament victory?
Felt good (even when watching the Johnnies get manhandled the next day at noon by Villanova).
The opponent is the same, and once again, both teams are in the bottom half of the standings, playing on the first day of the Big East Tournament.

Let’s see the happy days come back, with more Shamorie and a return to the attacking style the Johnnies used in their four game winning streak.
Spread the ball, and go hard.
One thing to watch for: in the two meetings against Georgetown this season (both losses), the Hoyas were held to 33% and 36% inside the arc. The Red Storm need to keep that going to have a chance to win this game, shutting down the inside games of Jessie Govan and Marcus Derrickson (who missed the last game).
Shamorie Ponds missed the last game, but Coach Mullin said he practiced yesterday — he will hopefully play.
Let’s hope for more of this...
