This weekend, ESPN announced that top-100 wing Jalen Hill will visit St. John’s — as his last of five visits.
Visit schedule for ESPN 100 wing Jalen Hill:
— Jeff Borzello (@jeffborzello) August 24, 2018
• 9/1: Oklahoma
• 9/14: TCU
• 9/22: Florida State
• 10/5: DePaul
• 10/12: St. John’s
Also expected to visit UNLV unofficially.
Jalen Hill, from Las Vegas, is a versatile, 6’7”, 210 pound wing ranked around #100 in 247 Sports’ composite and slightly higher in ESPN’s rankings (more below). Versatile means he can make basketball plays in transition, pass the ball, and rebound — all things St. John’s could use more of.
Highlights:
With a visit in the middle of October, St. John’s might either find they have a chance to make the best counter-pitch... or that Hill had his heart set on a different school, like hometown UNLV (where he will visit unofficially) or Oklahoma, where the 247 Crystal Ball thinks he will choose.
ESPN updated rankings
ESPN has updated their top 100 rankings for the Class of 2019 (this season’s signable recruits for next year) and their Top 60 for 2020.
The years are just passing us by, aren’t they?
With that maudlin note out of the way, a look at who has made the cut. Note that James Bishop Jr. of Baltimore, who will visit St. John’s in September, is not listed in ESPN’s database.
