The Big East might be down, but given the coaching talent in the league, it’s not out.
St. John’s has been competitive in all five Big East games (a stark improvement from last season), but St. John’s has lost three of those games.
Maybe it’s the lack of post presence, maybe it’s decisions made on the sidelines, maybe it’s just luck, maybe it’s #grit, but the Red Storm find themselves at 2-3 in the Big East.
The Johnnies need to hold serve at home and snag a few on the road.
Playing Creighton is an opportunity. They are willing to run and perhaps, get a little wild — the kind of game that papers over the Red Storm’s lack of interior heft and plays to their team athleticism.
But can the Johnnies execute? Will Shamorie Ponds play tonight?
