Game thread: St. John’s at Creighton

Well, it’s the end of January and the Red Storm need to make a surge, need to win the majority of their games from here on out.

Part of this is for sheer confidence. But the other part is because the margin for error for this squad’s NCAA chances continue to be slim.

The effort on Sunday was not their best. On the other hand, Creighton’s defense and lineups can be fairly forgiving to how St. John’s plays.

We’re all here for criticism, true, but we are also here because the expectation was that, despite having an unbalanced, guard-heavy roster, the talent collection here was good enough to finally get St. John’s into the NCAA Tournament.

If that talent really is going to get the Johnnies there, this is a game that the team needs to pull out.
