This week, St. John's saw a star of the women's team make the Honor Roll; on the men's side, two players make the Big East Honor Roll -- and neither was Justin Simon or Shamorie Ponds.
Mustapha Heron was named the Big East Player of the Week; LJ Figueroa was named to the five-player Honor Roll. On the women's side, Tianna England's scoring earned her a spot on the women's honor roll.
This week, Mustapha Heron had his best week as a member of the Red Storm when the Johnnies needed it most. He went 17/20 from the free throw line combined in an overtime win over Butler and in the win over league-leading Villanova, scoring 47 points.
A big comeback against Villanova was powered by the two-way play of LJ Figueroa. He had 22 points, nine defensive rebounds and four steals. The four steals matched his total against Butler.
Tianna England's scored 20 points in an upset win over top 10 Marquette at home and 14 in a loss to DePaul. She averaged 5.5 assists in the week.
