Shamorie Ponds, Tianna England named to Big East Honor Roll

Two dynamic St. John’s guards receive accolades this week.

This week, both the men’s and women’s teams saw a member receive a weekly honor.

On the women’s side, Tianna England continues to lead the Big East in assists. The sophomore handed out 13 assists in a 73-68 overtime loss to Butler — helping on half of the Red Storm’s made shots. England also had eight assists in a 70-41 win over Xavier.

On the men’s side, Shamorie Ponds’ strong outing vs Creighton helped him achieve another Big East weekly award. He scored 26 points with eight assists and eight rebounds against Creighton, with six steals.
