Game thread: St. John’s vs Providence

Back from a three game road trip, the Red Storm have a chance to reel off some wins and gain separation in a tight league.

The early talk from the Johnnies is about understanding that they can be better than they have shown.

“I think we matured a bit,” Justin Simon said. “We’ve always been capable of playing this type of defense. We have the length, the size, the athleticism. We just upped the level of alertness.”

That’s true, but sometimes, it’s easier to be alert when a team is willing to run.

Can the Johnnies put up a dominating effort against Providence, a team that makes each possession about as fun as a trip to check gutters or a rainy walk to the bus stop at rush hour?

It’s a big game.

Let’s keep the comments clean and not take shots (veiled or otherwise) at each other.
