On this palindromic day (02-02-2020!), St. John’s and the longtime rival, Georgetown, meet once again in Madison Square Garden for supremacy. In this case, both teams have been scuffling in a very competitive Big East.
In the first half of league play, the two teams have suffered from extremes; St. John’s offense has been fairly unsuccessful, relative to league foes, and Georgetown’s defense has been relatively porous.
If defense wins championships, can bad defense lose games?
The Red Storm hope so, and hope to put up some strong numbers against the Hoyas in their second meeting of the season.
We’re watching
How will the Red Storm slow Mac McClung and Omer Yurtseven? (Update: McClung is out.)
Can the Red Storm get some scoring production from the second unit?
Will Mustapha Heron find his scoring touch?
