No bones about it, this is a huge moment and huge opportunity for the Red Storm.

St. John’s takes on Seton Hall after enjoying a bye. They are on the side of the #1 seed Villanova... but Villanova just was bounced by Georgetown after free throws by Dante Harris in the final five seconds of the game gave the Hoyas the win.

The Hoyas may not have been good this year, but they are improving — and they gave the Johnnies fits with their height. Still, as was believed before the Big East Tournament started, there is a path to the championship game for the Johnnies.

First, they have to get past old rival Seton Hall. And, due to a positive COVID test within the St. John’s program, Isaih Moore (who apparently did not test positive but was in close contact with the individual) will sit out at least this game.

Isaih Moore will be missed. He has provided defensive and offensive energy, throws down dunks for a team that really struggles at the rim, and can run, He may not have played many minutes against Seton Hall last time, but he can still be a factor.

Expect more Josh Roberts — who will need to bring his best game — and Marcellus Earlington, who needs to have a good shooting and rebounding performance against the very large frontline of the Pirates.
