Discussions between St. John's and Isaiah Whitehead are regaining momentum, according to Zach Braziller of the New York Post.
The Johnnies have had the highly touted Lincoln High School guard on the recruiting radar for quite some time, which has included periods of noticeable fluctuations in mutual interest. Reports have even said that the Storm had put a halt on their pursuit of Whitehead this summer.
Yet St. John's, headed by Steve Lavin, seems to be back in the picture, per Braziller's report. After reaching out to Whitehead's family to express desires to get back into the Brooklyn native's recruiting sweepstakes, the Red Storm now seem to be a potential landing spot.
Whitehead tweeted on Sunday afternoon that he plans to make an unofficial visit to St. John's sometime this week.

According to the report, Whitehead is intrigued by what the Johnnies can offer him and is willing to listen to what they have to say in person when he visits the campus.
Ranked 35th overall in ESPN's recruiting rankings for 2014, Whitehead can provide a powerful physical presence to the backcourt - an asset many college programs covet. Talented point guard Rysheed Jordan will begin his freshman season with the Red Storm this November.
Whitehead has also expressed strong interest in local rival Seton Hall, along with Indiana, Minnesota, Louisville, Arizona, and a few other top programs. He plans to make his final decision sometime before his senior season at Lincoln begins in November, says Braziller.

Will Lavin's final push to convince Isaiah Whitehead to join St. John's be enough to lure the Brooklyn star across the borough border?
